π₯π° Easter break
This week was a little bit easier. Shorter. Here in Barcelona we had last Friday off all the way to Monday included. Four full days of vacation π΄ A total shame we could not go out, the weather was fantastic βοΈ
So this week has been shorter, which has made surviving it a little bit easier. We did not enjoy much of easter festivities but we did eat some hot chocolate. If that counts π«
π₯ Classes going strong
The Haidong Gumdo classes are still going strong πͺ I connect with my students 3 times a week, for a total of 4 hours. Most of them only join me for half of that, only a few join me full time β
I’m quite surprised actually. I honestly thought most of my students would join me. Always. Ok, granted, it is not the same martial art classes online that face to face. But it’s way better than nothing.
What could they possibly be doing that they can not join? π§
Well, let me answer that for you π€ They simply don’t want to join π The teens even though they have homework to do, they could join. The adults, I know only of a few that are going to work (maybe 2 / 3 times a day due to the lockdown). Mind you, there were weeks of full lockdown and I have no students that work on hospitalsβ¦
I’m not mad or angry, though. That’s their choice. I’ve made the resources available to them if they want to train with me. My conscience is clear and my revenge, in the form of physical training, will be tought once we can go back to school π
πΏ Movies
Here’s a recommendation for you: The Gentlement (2019)
Have you watched any good movies recently?
πΊ TV Shows
I’m guilty of re-watching Final Space, I’ve binge-watched the first season and slowly consuming the second one. It’s so good and I can’t wait for the next one.
Westworld from HBO is also another one you must watch if you like the genre. 3rd season has started and this one is a little bit easier to follow. No crazy time jumps as they did in the first two seasons.
Are you watching anything good?
βοΈ π¨ Travel refunds
To end on a good note I have been able to apply for a refund on my Vueling flight ticket and an Ibis hotel booking I had for The Hague (Amsterdam). The thing is, it wasn’t possible to ask for a refund with Vueling until recently.
The dates of flights and hotel were for May 29th.
We first got the email from the airline saying there were offering free re-bookings. Change the day of your flight at no cost (paying the difference if more expensive). No refund was possible. We decided to wait. It seems like the waiting game worked as we got an email from Vueling saying the flights were canceled. Now we got 2 options, refund or re-book. Victory! π
What happened with the hotel?
Well, on their website it clearly said they offered re-bookings only. Still, I gave it a try and politely sent an email directly to the hotel. They did offer the re-booking first but also agreed to a refund. Double victory! ππ
Now, this is all on paper. I’m actually waiting for the refund to hit my bank account π€
π See you next week
In Spain, there’s no end to the lockdown in sight. We just don’t know. For now, we stay at home and we do what we can.
I hope you’re staying safe.
