Speaking last during meetings

There’s something I want to try out in the following weeks, whenever we have a team meeting regarding a specific topic, if I’m one of the most senior profiles in the group, try to speak last 🤐

I was watching this interview from Lex Fridman with Jeff Bezos and I found this small tip on how to conduct meetings fascinating. If the most senior person in the group speaks first and lays out their point of view or thoughts on the topic, junior profiles will probably be inclined to change their minds. “If the senior thinks it’s like that, maybe I was wrong“.

That mindset is detrimental to finding good solutions to the issues we might be discussing. So, having as much input as possible is very healthy, as it will undoubtedly help the conversation.

I’ll try that and see how it goes.

Do you have any meeting tips?
