Algorithmic feeds

Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (to pick just 3) have algorithmic feeds. Meaning, they control what you see.

If you follow someone on Instagram you’re not guaranteed to see all their posts as they post them.

What is so wrong with a chronologic timeline? Ads? I understand. Please do put ads on our feeds, it is a valid business model. I need to stress this, please do not alter our feeds.

Why would you do that? 😡

I honestly do not understand the idea behind this. The reason, if there’s even such a thing.

Do you think you’re smarter than us when choosing what we want to see?

This is one of the reasons I still love blogs. You can subscribe to blogs via email or RSS. Blogs are unaltered, RSS feeds are unaltered, you get updated as they’re published. Noone but you chooses what you read and from where, and especially when. Don’t get me started on the owning content topic, that’s a post for another day.

    1. I’m a little skeptical Srikanth about giving out my Facebook cookies into that app. I can see they link the source code but I would have to deep dive to make sure.

      Thank you for the input.

      Have a great day!
