Amazon Prime doubles price in Spain

A desk with a laptop and amazon's site open in it

This morning we all Amazon ES customers got an email:

The price of Amazon Prime’s annual subscription has been increased from 19.95€ to 36.00€ on August 31, 2018. This change will affect your next renewal, which will take place on December 18, 2018. On that date we will charge 36.00€ for another year of Amazon Prime benefits and the following renewals of your subscription are also made at that price.

I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, 19€ a year it was like nothing. You would cover it by buying five items (assuming you’re using the 4€ shipping price for fastest delivery).

I’m not complaining, really. I still think 36€ is a decent price if you use it frequently. Most people share the Prime subscription with those in the same household anyway, right?

My question is: doubling the benefit will be for Jeff Bezos pocket or if they will improve the employees conditions? Which from what it can be heard… working at Amazon might not a dream job.

How much does Amazon Prime cost where you live?

Ricard
