βοΈ π©πͺ Trip to Cologne, Germany
The past weekend I spent between German things… German people, German beer, German food.
We traveled to Cologne for a Haidong Gumdo seminar (the martial art I teach) and it was fun! π
The journey didn’t start great, though. We had a delay in both incoming and outgoing flights, which are not a big deal (20-30 minutes) but it all adds up to your fatigue. We were flying out of Barcelona quite late, no earlier flight without having to take Friday off and that’s a dangerous gamble for delays.
When we fly for a seminar like this one we never bring checked-in luggage, it’s always a carry-on backpack. For speed of boarding and budget.
We arrived at Cologne airport and the train to the city was delayed another 30 minutes π Our first night had to be near the train main station in the city center but if you arrive by midnight there are no restaurants open. We had to survive with a below-average chicken sandwich and the hope that the next day would be better π₯²
…and it was π€©
We had a great Korean dinner the following that. Yes, you read that right, Korean food while traveling in Germany π But it was homemade food, so it was very good! π€€
We had some German beer and luckily, as we were leaving on Sunday a plate of currywurst alongside a weiΓbier. Mission accomplished β
