π± Custom planter for my balcony
This week I’ve been looking for wooden planters. You would think it’s easy, and you’d be right if you had lots of space. In the city, balconies are usually not very spacious (mine’s not specially big). I’m looking for specific sizing and that’s been a challenge.
I’ve contacted a local wood craftsman (always trying to work with local businesses first β€οΈ) to see if this person can make them for me. The website has grammar errors and it is clearly made by an amateur. I can’t help but feel triggered (you know, me making websites for a living and all that). Still, I’ve taken a leap of faith and ordered them. He only wanted 50% of the payment upfront (the rest upon receiving the planters) and it should take him 10 days. I’ll keep you update to see if it’s a scam or the real deal.
Update: I’ve received an email saying they’ll be here next week π€
πΈ Clip-on guitar tuner
Almost 15 years playing the guitar π΄π» and I’ve never used a clip-on guitar tuner. I’ve never needed one and never believed they were any good. I’ve always thought that using a cable from the guitar to the tuner was the safest and most accurate way to do it π€·ββοΈ
Sure, more than a decade playing but I’m still a newbie. My friend at the band recommended this expensive (38β¬ βοΈ) tuner. It surely is more practical than having to plug the guitar into another device. This thing simply clips onto the neck and its big fat display shows if you’re off-tune π― You can even strum all the strings at once π€―
Whenever COVID goes away I hope to try it on a live stage, with noise, with many devices around⦠see if it works as advertised.

πΈ Music room
My music room is almost ready, this past week my dad and I installed the foam panels to improve the overall room sound. It hurt a little bit to use adhesive on the newly done walls (paint and whatnot) but well.
It’s not a recording studio but it sure sounds a lot better when jamming with my guitar now.

π§ββοΈ The Lord of the Rings – EXTENDED
So this week I procured the first 3 installments of LOTR, in their extended version. More than 3 hours of content each movie.
They came out ages ago but I had never seen the extended version. It is fair to say I know the movies quite well. These longer versions made me re-engage the saga. Scenes I had never seen, sure not super important (hence they didn’t make it to the final cut) but good to have.
I’m halfway through the second, The Two Towers. I can’t possibly watch any of these in a single sitting.
Hopefuly I can catch up to more Gandalf this soon.
π¬ What are your plans for the weekend?
Ricard
Love the music room π
Thank you, Helena!
