π¨βπ» The work from home revolution
At this point, you’ve probably read how the world has embraced the work from home. How companies are going fully remote, how the teams are functioning just as they were before but now without offices π’
Also, how some employees are working crazy hours because they’re at home and how some others are living the dream saving on commute π Saving travel time to do what you want, be it relax, meet your favorite people or run errands! πββοΈ
Granted, in the middle of the pandemic what you can do is limited but things are opening up π·
So, in IT the job situation is blowing up π In a good way. Companies are now able to hire remote workers, companies that previously offered amazing offices are now less attractive. This exactly is happening where I work where we’re seeing a massive talent exodus. It’s bittersweet, you talk with the colleagues that are leaving and it’s always for the best. Better job, better pay, other challengesβ¦ It’s understandable, I’m happy for them.
π§ββοΈ No bits of wisdom on my part, I just feel lucky to have a career in IT where it’s booming and there are plenty of offers to choose from.
Call me old-fashioned but I’m not so hungry for continuously changing companies every 2 years. If I’m happy, why change? Ok, having a mortgage to pay pushed you to pursue stability, I’ll give you that πΈ π
Wood everywhere
Last week I told you I ordered wooden handmade planters for my balcony. The website was sketchy and I wasn’t sure if I would get them. I had only paid 50%.
Well, they arrived, they look fantastic π Now I just need to plant something in them π·

πΌ I’m looking to adopt a cat
For the past few weeks I’ve been looking to adopt a cat, let me tell you I never imaged it would be so hard π° I don’t want to bore you with the details but suffice to say the process could be improved. There are so many animals that need a forever home, yet those in charge of adoptions don’t make it easy. They are strict, they want to be sure, they take their time, and they disappoint. A part of me understands they want to be sure they’re not placing them in the wrong places but still… Something’s not right π€
I had asked to adopt a kitty from the south of Spain and when everything seemed set in stone the foster parents decided to not give him up after all π That hurt, hitting below the belt. I had my hopes up π
Anyway, I’m not giving up just yet. Wish me luck in my search π
Have a great weekend! π
Ricard
