Week 23 (2019)

Free Delivery text sign

🎈🍔

There are these services in Barcelona, and other areas, which deliver food for a small fee. Nothing new, you might’ve used them. Until a week ago, I hadn’t.

Not that I never had a pizza delivered but more like restaurant food which without these services wasn’t possible before.

I had a free delivery for joining the service so I decided to try it out. I don’t think I’ll repeat:

  • It was a fast food order and it took more than 30 minutes to be delivered. Mind you the walking distance from home to the restaurant is 10 minutes.
  • Food was not hot, just slightly warm. I didn’t enjoy it as much. I understand it won’t like being in the restaurant but I expected more.
  • The whole experience is, in the end, more expensive while having lesser quality.

What’s your experience with food delivery?

🦊 Chrome and Firefox

I am trying to move from Chrome to Firefox as my default browser in mobile and desktop.

Why?

Because I don’t like how Google plans to change Chrome to be less powerful when it comes to blocking ads. They’ll take away power from the extensions. Their business model is ads, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise. They tried a few months back without success as the community picked up forks and torches. Now they’re trying again.

I am also switching from Google to DuckDuckGo as my search engine.

It has been a week and I haven’t had major issues. I will report back in the upcoming weeks.

☀️ Summertime

There’s so much light in the evenings right now in Barcelona, it’s crazy. I was enjoying the breeze sitting in my balcony while on my laptop and suddenly it was 20:50. There was so much light still it was tricked. During winter, at 18:00 it’s already pitch black.

Can’t complain, the light is very much welcome!
