Weeknote 29 (2020)

I wish I didn’t have to rant but you know how most people are… a bunch of ***holes 😑

Some are so dense they’re only capable of caring about themselves, and their comfort. Selfish and unconscious, incapable of living in society. Incapable of feeling empathy for the person next to them.

Barcelona is about to go backward in terms of lockdown and preventive measures. The COVID-19 cases keep climbing up again as people have relaxed and think we’re back to normal. Far from it.

Catalonia has imposed a state-wide mask rule (with or without safe distance). Are we as a society capable of following the rules? We aren’t πŸ›‘ Well, I know I am but most of the rest… not so much. This pandemic has helped prove the theory.

☠️ A death song

I was on the subway the other day, most of us there we wearing the mask. Over mouth and nose (yet another reason to rant since some people are incapable of wearing it over the nose, and only wear it over the mouth). This street performer, a rapper, starts saying he’ll sign about our current situation. The dude starts signing (mind you, without mask) in the middle of the train yapping about how “they” are controlling us, how we are all sheep, and how this whole thing is less of a pandemic and more of a measure of control.

Dude, what?! πŸ˜‘

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ The kids are not going to be alright

Whenever I go and come back from teaching my class I walk by a street near home. That’s a street near a park, a sort of back alley. A small street.
In that street/park there are usually around 15 teenagers gathered, listening to music, smoking… Maybe 1 or two wear a mask. Probably wearing a mask is a sign of weakness among their Mad Max-like tribe πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ€ These stupid and unconscious teenagers, all sitting close to each other as they spend their afternoons, do not live in the same household. They should all be wearing masks 😷 All the time. They have 0 empathy for the local business who will have to close shop when the restrictions are put in place again. It won’t be so funny when they get infected, go home and infect their elder parents, who might turn up dead in a few weeks πŸ‘΅πŸ»πŸ‘΄πŸ»

These young and brainless kids are supposed to be the future? The future sure looks bleak πŸ˜”

I’m not as angry as I should be. Luckily the school will be closed for vacation starting next week, even if they decide to lock us down again or to limit the activities it will be once we’re on school-vacation πŸ₯‹ 🌴 I’ll also be on vacation from work, so I’ll unplug and hope for the best πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

It’s so infuriating that those who follow the rules and try to not expose other people to our potential infection are surely those who suffer the most as we’re robbed of the things we love.

Have a nice weekend πŸ‘‹
