π± MWC
The Mobile World Congress is being hosted in Barcelona this week. To be honest, it’s kind of a mess for those living here.
On one side, you have an increase in traffic π¦ Buses, private drivers and such flood the city to move the attendants around. A big chunk of them uses public transport, which is on strike. Like every single year during this event. Still, the city has no solution to this.
Yes, hotel prices are through the roof and the adult entertainment sector gets really busy which is all good π€ For the rest of us not living off tourism? Meh π
Nevertheless, I don’t complain I think it’s good for Barcelona. They come here to spend money, is good for the economy, good for the people. I just wish those on strike wouldn’t make Barcelona look bad π€¦π»ββοΈ
It got me thinkingβ¦ How much money does Barcelona has to invest and potentially lose so we can host this event? It is clear to me hosting it is good for the local business. Yet, why are those collectives trying to boycott it? π€
πΌ Business trip
So this week I embarc on a business trip down south. We will take a 3-hour train followed by a 2-hour bus ride until our destination, a convention center near Benidorm π΄
Two days of company keynotes and conferences, as well as workshops that extend until Saturday. We’ll be arriving in Barcelona on Sunday afternoon.
To be honest, I’m not very excited about it. The agenda is too packed and the trip is too long. Still, I’ll go with an open mind and try to enjoy the experience π
βΎοΈ Baseball season has begun
Almost forgot! MLB spring training has started. If you followed me this past year you already know I became a baseball fan
I’m not very knowledgeable but I try to learn π¨π»βπ I follow hardcore fans on Twitter, listen to podcasts and watch highlights. I’m looking forward to watching live Red Sox games again this season π€©
